NZ Horse Team provides experienced horse master services, film horses, stunt riders, wranglers and equine production support throughout New Zealand.
Led by Dayna Pomare, Horse Master and Stunt Coordinator, our team supports productions from pre-production planning and horse selection through rehearsals, cast training and on-set coordination.
From riding scenes and character preparation to mounted stunts, action sequences, carriage work and specialist equine requirements, we build the right horse and crew department around the production.

- Production Understanding
We understand that horses are one part of a much larger production. Our team works with production, stunt, AD, costume and other departments to help integrate equine requirements into the filming plan.
- Horse & Rider Matching
The right horse is not simply the horse that can perform a particular skill. Temperament, rider ability, environment, costume, location, camera requirements and the demands of the scene all need to be considered.

Horse Master & Stunt Coordinator
Dayna Pomare (Grant) is a New Zealand stunt coordinator, horse master and performer with more than 30 years of professional experience in film and television.
Her screen career includes stunt performance, stunt doubling, stunt coordination and horse-related work. Her professional credits include work on productions such as The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Juniper, Ash vs Evil Dead, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Xena: Warrior Princess and others.
Her horse-related screen credits include Horse Master on the 2026 series East of Eden, horse training on Juniper, and cast horse-riding training on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Dayna's experience across horse work, stunt performance and stunt coordination allows NZ Horse Team to approach equine action as part of the wider production rather than as an isolated department.
