Please note: completing training builds your skills and readiness for the industry, but it doesn't guarantee stunt work. Like any performance industry, paid opportunities depend on your own networking, reputation, and what productions are casting for at the time.

Your first step into the NZSS world. FFC is a two-day beginner workshop covering theory, screen combat basics, camera angles, fight choreography and what it actually feels like to perform on a professional set. FFC is a prerequisite for all NZSS training and specialist workshops. Complete it once and you're in.

Both paths cover the same underlying training — the difference is purely in how you move through it: committed and structured (cheaper), or flexible.

SAVE UP TO 20% VS PAY A LA CARTE

NZSS supports students who wish to apply for external funding to support their training. Upon enrolment in the Year Programme, we will provide a support letter and proof of enrolment to assist your application. Please note that funding applications are made independently by the student. NZSS is not responsible for the outcome of any application and does not guarantee funding. We encourage students to explore arts and screen industry grants available in New Zealand — a quick search of Creative NZ and other arts funding bodies is a good starting point.

NZSS does not teach martial arts, parkour, gym or circus arts directly, but stunt training requires and is significantly helped by students applying techniques from these disciplines. NZSS strongly encourages students to train alongside their stunt components in martial arts, parkour, circus arts, and general fitness/conditioning workouts, as these build the strength, combat skills, conditioning, and agility that stunt performance draws on.
