NZSS offers a structured stunt training pathway designed to guide performers from foundational skills through to advanced, specialized stunt disciplines. Whether you’re starting with no prior experience or progressing toward professional screen work, our training provides a clear, realistic, and safety-focused pathway into the stunt industry Your Stunt Training Pathway
All stunt training at NZ Stunt School begins with Fight for Camera (FFC); our official entry-level course. Completion of Fight for Camera: - Unlocks access to specialized stunt training and advanced workshops - Supports eligibility to apply for NZAT Agency. - Establishes the foundational skills required before advanced stunt work Fight for Camera can be completed online or in person; both formats provide access to the same stunt training pathway.

Entry-Level Stunt training options 

Whether you learn online or in person, these programs teach the fundamentals that every aspiring stunt performer must know before progressing into more advanced training.
2-Day Beginner Intensive A hands-on introduction to stunt fundamentals, delivered in a controlled training environment by professional stunt instructors. You will learn: - Rolls and breakfalls - Falls, hits, and reactions - Kicks and basic fight choreography
- Swords - On-set stunt etiquette and safety principles Check upcoming workshops using the search bar. Online Fight for Camera Course A self-paced online program covering the same foundational stunt principles, with a focus on movement, control, and safety. Includes: - Structured, chapter-locked progression - Instructor-reviewed video assessments - Clear technical and safety guidance This option is ideal for: - Students without access to in-person training - International or remote learners - Those wanting to prepare before travelling for workshops Note: the online course focuses on movement fundamentals and does not include fight choreography.

After FFC - WORKSHOP & Training

Once you’ve completed the Fight For Camera or have been approved through prior professional experience, you’ll unlock access to regular Training & Workshop, including:
- Scenario-based training sessions applying multiple stunt skills (falls, reactions, acting, teamwork). Each month features a new stunt theme for all levels. - Open Gym for qualified performers to maintain fitness and safely practise stunt fundamentals under supervision. - Specialised Workshops: In-depth technical training on professional stunt disciplines such as: - High Falls & Crash Mats - Car Hits & Precision Driving - Fire Burns (Partial & Full) - Wire Work, Air Rams & Ratchets - Water Stunts & Tactical Scenarios These workshops include online learning components so students can prepare before and review after each session. All sessions are held in Auckland, unless otherwise stated.

Action Acting & Screen INDUSTRY Program

NZSS also offer: - Action Acting training for performers wanting to add physicality to their roles - 1-to-1 coaching sessions for auditions, self-tapes, scene work, and screen performance - Safety on Set Course
- Self-tape and audition preparation for action roles
- Free Online Mini-Courses Short introductory lessons covering fundamentals such as on-set etiquette, self-taping tips, and beginner action performance awareness.

Online Action Acting Course (Light Stunts for Screen Performance) This program helps performers combine emotional storytelling with physical performance.

You’ll learn how to connect acting and movement for film, improve your reactions, and create believable on-camera performances for action-driven scenes. Course covers: - Physical acting for screen and action sequences - Reactions with clear camera focus - Emotional beats, timing, and continuity Ideal for actors, extras, and performers wanting to strengthen their screen presence and expand their range.

Horse Acting & Stunt Riding

Our Horse Acting & Stunt Riding courses combine horsemanship, acting, and stunt coordination for film and TV productions. You’ll learn to ride confidently, handle horses safely, and perform choreographed mounted stunts. We offer: - Horse Riding Lessons – Riding, mounted archery, and horse control for film - Stunt & Trick Riding (Teens & Adults) – Learning controlled falls, tack handling, and performance awareness for camera Training is led by the NZ Horse Team, based in Hunua, Auckland, and open to both performers and newcomers (no prior experience required).
