Professional Standards, Personal Responsibility
At NZ Stunt School (“NZSS”), all courses are developed and delivered by experienced, working professionals in the stunt and screen industry. Our goal is to provide training that is: - Safe and structured - Progressive in skill development - Aligned with international screen industry practices While all training is designed with professional care, physical movement carries inherent risk. You, the participant, are fully responsible for how you engage with the material—especially when training remotely or unsupervised. Your Responsibilities as a Participant
Whether participating online or in person, you agree to: - Train at your own risk and accept full responsibility for your physical and wellbeing - Follow all warm-up, safety, and technique instructions precisely - Use a clear, well-lit, obstacle-free space with appropriate flooring - Wear fitted, movement-appropriate clothing (no jewellery or loose items) - Only use safe, properly maintained training gear (e.g. mats, foam props) - Stop training immediately if you feel any pain, discomfort, or dizziness - Consult a doctor before participating if you have health conditions or prior injuries
For Online Learners and Solo Practitioners If you are participating online or training solo, you must also:
- Be at least 16 years old and physically cleared for exercise - Never skip warm-ups, breakdowns, or progressions - Accept full responsibility for your safety in an unsupervised setting - Only proceed when you fully understand what is being demonstrated - Never use real knives or live weapons – use safe, foam or plastic props only NZSS cannot monitor or control your environment. You are fully responsible for ensuring that your training setup is safe and appropriate.
Legal Waiver of Liability By enrolling in or participating in any NZSS course (online or in-person), you acknowledge and agree: - You are engaging in physical activity voluntarily and at your own risk - NZSS, its instructors, directors, partners, and affiliates are not liable for any injury, damage, or loss incurred during or after training You waive any and all claims of liability arising from:
- Improper technique or form -Unsafe training environments or unsuitable equipment - Skipping key instructions or altering exercises - Ignoring recommended safety measures or pushing beyond your limits
This waiver applies globally and is enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by the laws in your country of residence and New Zealand. External Video Content – For Demonstration Only The Platform may include licensed or third-party video examples to demonstrate what certain techniques look like on screen. These are not part of your structured instruction. You must not: - Attempt to replicate actions seen in external or cinematic footage - Use demonstration videos as instructional substitutes - Rely on them for technique or safety guidance - Always follow NZSS’s direct tutorials, drills, and safety instructions when training.

If you experience any discomfort, unusual pain, or unsafe conditions during or after training: - Cease training immediately - Contact your instructor or the NZSS team - Seek medical advice if needed Your safety is our top priority. We are committed to continuous safety review and will adapt our practices if risks are identified.
